I've always uses Corelle bowls for my Bichon and she has always been a fast eater but it never unduly concerned me. Last month, however, we adopted a little Maltese mix rescue and found out what a fast eater really was. This little girl practically inhaled her food and I was lucky to be able to set the bowl down before it was empty.I came across the Dogit Go Slow bowls as I was looking at dog puzzles and some more expensive dog bowls designed to slow down a dog's eating. The other bowls looked way too big for my girls , who normally don't eat more than one half of a cup at a time. The small Dogit bowls seemed perfect. I wanted to get the two bowls of the exact same type since I am making sure that my ten year old Bichon doesn't feel slighted by having a new sister. I figured the Dogit bowls were relatively inexpensive and so, if they didn't work out, I would not be out much.To my surprise, the bowls are so very sturdy and the rubber bottom really does keep them from traveling across the room as the girls lick out every morsel and speck of food. They both can get their faces completely in the dishes and I have used both wet and dry food. The dishes are easy to clean too. I really am tickled at how this bowl design does slow down my little food guzzlers and highly recommend it.

I have three dogs - a pug, a chi-corgi-pug and a chi-yorkie, and they all had regular food bowls until recently. My pug and pug mix are older and have flat faces. I bought them bowls for flat face dogs because they were having a hard time eating. It took them forever to eat and they made a huge mess. My chi-yorkie mix, however, would eat so quickly out of a normal bowl it was like she inhaled it without chewing and then would choke half the time. As soon as she hoovered down her food she would go over to my older dogs bowls like a tiny fury vulture waiting to swoop in for the steal. It caused fights, mess, and stress.The flat faced bowls help speed my old pugs up and this bowl slows speedy chorkzalez down enough that my pugs finish just before she does and we have had zero incidences of not chewing/choking on our food.My girl is slightly bigger than a regular chi- being a chi-yorkie mix. I got her the small bowl and it is perfect for her little pointy snout and size. I'd say any smaller dogs in the 10-20 lb range (small terriers, mini dachshunds etc) should do well with this.I also like how it is heavy, thick, high quality and seems to be very durable. She doesn't just push it around on the floor because it has rubber or silicone on the bottom to give it a bit of extra traction.

This is a great product to slow down your dog's gulping down his or her food like there's no tomorrow. Recently my dog started throwing up after every meal and drinking water right after. I wasn't sure whether he picked up a virus, or was just having upset stomach issues. I was debating whether to take him to vet to have him checked out, but was not looking forward to expensive vet tests and medicines, especially now in these unsure times when money is very tight. I researched any options I might have and came across possible cause was, he not digesting his food from eating too fast, which was definitely the case here. So I ordered this dog dish and figured that if this doesn't work, I will need to take him for tests, because if there was a serious issue, I didn't want to prolong his (and my) agony. Well, first meal I tried this with, it worked, (even though my dog became a little frustrated from not being able to quickly inhale his food). Wow, I was amazed! So I said to myself, let's see if it works out for the next meal. Ditto, success again. Then, and up to now, he has not thrown up since. Very happy with this product and would recommend it highly. This item was one of the best investments I have made in my dogs health and well being! My dog is a shelter dog and came into my home and would gulp down all of his food in less than 30 seconds. This was a huge issue. He would get really sick to his stomach and had very painful digestive issues. I also had to make sure he could not get around my cats food because he would eat it like there was not another meal coming. I used this bowl for about a month and it slowed down his eating to a point where he was better able to digest his food. Then after a few weeks I started to notice he was leaving some in the bowl to eat at a later time. I no longer have to use this bowl with my dog but I have it just in case bad habits come back again. I really love this item! He now eats a little at a time on his own and knows that he does not have to eat all at once anymore. It does a job and I feel a lot better as a pet owner knowing that I can leave him with food without worrying if he will choke to death on it while I am gone. If you have a dog like that this is a great option and there are many more to try out. I do like the Dogit and Catit brand. They seem to have good quality items and this is certainly no exception!
